While developing an app for the burgeoning EV industry and omnipresent charging products, creating an intuitive onboarding flow accessible to all demographics posed a challenge. I crafted an illustrated onboarding process designed to be welcoming and easy to navigate for users, regardless of their familiarity with the technology.
The main feature of the Bolt.Earth homepage is the display of multiple chargers near you, allowing you to select the nearest one for vehicle charging. Three different charger types (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3) are available based on vehicle and connector type, with cards providing details such as compatibility, price, availability status, and reviews. Pins are segregated by charger type and cluster when zoomed out.
The account page displays insights such as CO2 reduction, fuel cost savings, and energy consumption for EV charger users, as well as CO2 reduction, revenue earned, and average ratings for hosts. It also features a badges system and user and host levels to motivate users and hosts to enhance their experience and earn rewards.
